Welcome back to the loop!
It’s time for another glimpse behind the curtain. What’s back here beyond the madness? Well, for one, a lot of hooting and hollering over the success of May. Apparently I should turn 44 more often and have crazy sales. 🙂
May blew March out of the water sales-wise, which I didn’t think was going to happen. Apparently I’m doing something right considering the nearly 450 products that were sold and downloaded. Our web traffic dropped a bit, but I’m not worried about that. It will come and go, I’m sure.
We’ll start start there… No massive boosts this month from Reddit or StumbleUpon, so traffic dropped quite a bit. We went from nearly 4,750 page views and 3,400 unique visitors to less than half that at 1,926 page views and 1,397 unique visits. More than 300 of those visitors came back, while over a thousand hit the site for the first time.
A bit disappointing there, but again – I”m not too worried. Traffic will ebb and flow from time to time. And perhaps the site will go viral in June. Who knows?
Sales-wise, the May Madness Sale helped a ton. Not only did we beat last month with downloads, but we also had the most sales I’ve seen yet (since November 2007). And I thank each and every one of you who purchased products from DriveThruRPG, RPGnow, Paizo, and d20pfsrd. Over the 30 days we sold and had downloaded 447 copies of Moebius products. That’s a phenomenal number. And the fact that we actually did have a few sales at Paizo and d20pfsrd makes me feel a bit better about opening up those markets a few months ago.
If you were among the nearly 450 people who bought products last month, I would encourage you to rate them and review them if you get an opportunity. How are you using them? Are they helpful? What could we do better? I’m always hungry for feedback and if you let me know you’re sharing that feedback (e-mail, social media, carrier pigeon), I may send YOU something in return! You never know! I’m a nice guy! 🙂
The fact that the Big Book of Little Spaces: Haunts did as well as it did blows my mind. And Insta-NPCs #1 even spent some time on the top 100 small press products list at DriveThru! We’ll hope that some of our other products do nearly that well in the coming months!
This month we’ve already released Little Spaces: Tavern Trouble and it’s doing well in its first few days. We also have Insta-NPCs #3 almost ready to go out and I’m hoping that we can release One Spot #3 into the wild. I’m VERY excited to see what you guys think of that. Designer George Fields has some cool stuff going on in that one. Plus there are several other Little Spaces in the works as well, so keep an eye out for those.
Do you have any ideas for products or topics you’d like me to look at? Send me an e-mail! Leave me a comment! Ping me on social media! But I’m not telepathic as much as I try to do the Amazing Kreskin bit every now and then, so you’ll have to reach out and get my attention!
Thank you again for the great response on the May Moebius Madness and we’ll try and share the madness more often!
To the rest of the year… and BEYOND!
